my {personal} favourite reads of march 2026!!
✨📚 here were my personal fave reads o’ march 2026!! 📚✨
☕️p.s. i didn’t like NOT talking to you more often about books!! lemme know below what the plan should be! 🥰
n’kay. as mentioned:
💙 THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF COYOTE SUNRISE by dan gemeinhart
a voicy middle grade about a girl who lives on a bus driving across the country with her hippie dad. they collect fellow travelers along the way and coyote may or may not have an ulterior motive for wanting that burger she had once in montana… bonus: it already has a sequel! (collected, but still in my TBR!)
🏆 THE CHALICE OF THE GODS by papa rick riordan
percy jackson is about to graduate high school, but of course collecting recommendation letters to get into the same collage as girlfriend annabeth wouldn’t be easy for a demigod now, would it? a DelIGHTful return to favourite characters that had me laughing out loud. voicy and adventurous, g’luck putting it down. book two is still in hardcover!
🦛 MINA’S MATCHBOX by yoko ogawa
did i buy this one at books are magic because of the cover? because it was japanese fiction in translation? and by an author i’ve already read and loved? yes, yes, and another yes. is there REALLY a pygmy hippo in this book that a little girl rides to school? ALSO YES. (the other powerful book by ogawa i mentioned is the housekeeper and the professor. a must-read.)
🧡 SILVERBORN: THE MYSTERY OF MORRIGAN CROW by jessica townsend
it’s the long-awaited fourth installment in the NEVERMOOR series by jessica townsend. a delightfully quirky middle grade fantasy that feels like it was written Just FOR ME!! (although thousands if not millions of others have read and loved the series, too!) highly recommend and was THRILLED it didn’t require a re-read of the three previous books in the series to follow the new unfolding adventures. yay!! (also: a surprise FAMILY and a MURDER MYSTERY?! eeeeepppp soooo goood!!!!!!)
💛 AGNES AUBERT’S MYSTICAL CAT SHELTER by heather fawcett
by the author of many of my fave middle grade novels (ugh, THE LANGUAGE OF GHOSTS was sooo good!!) and emily wilde’s encyclopaedia of faeries, comes a standalone COZiEST of fantasy novels! (it’s for “adults,” but definite ya/older mg cross-over!!) howl’s moving castle-coded with GorGEOus metaphors, faerie tale allusions, and LOTS of cats— cuddly, mute, and OtherWIse… ;) tiny, necessary spoiler: there’s a hot wizard in the cellar. bwahahhaha. ;) looking forward to the audio-re-read!! i hear it’s great!
